Cabal (Disbanded) Atlantean Rebels
|Chronological and political information|
Warlord of Atlantis
Attuma is an Atlantean warlord, and former member of The Cabal.
Attuma leads his fellow Atlanteans into riding a tidal wave into Manhattan as part of his plot to conquer the surface world. Iron Man fights Attuma while the other Avengers fight his soldiers. Attuma then heads into the flooded subways as Iron Man changes into his underwater armor to follow Attuma. Captain America and Hawkeye discover strange devices as Iron Man detects a lot of them underground as they are set off in a plot to sink Manhattan by destabilizing the bedrocks of Manhattan. Attuma and his soldiers ends up fighting Captain America, Hawkeye, and Hulk while Iron Man, Falcon, and Thor hold back the tidal wave with an energy barrier. Hulk charges towards Attuma as Thor helps to fight Attuma's soldiers. Hulk then engages Attuma where they are evenly matched until Attuma punches Hulk through the energy barrier that Iron Man and Falcon created to hold back the tidal wave. Thor and Iron Man then attack Attuma where their attacks couldn't harm them. When Attuma and his soldiers retreat into the oceans to find out why Manhattan is rising, they alongside Iron Man find Hulk holding up the island. While Hulk is buying the Avengers some time, the other Avengers fight Attuma who then escapes into the ocean from Thor to prevent Hulk from succeeding. Attuma has the advantage in the water over Iron Man and Thor until Hulk gets angry enough to prevent Manhattan's sinking as well as throwing a boulder at Attuma. Attuma is thrown onto land beaten up as Hulk manages to defeat him.
Personality and traits
Attuma is a proud and arrogant warrior loving to lead his troops into battle, or conquest. He believes very few can match his power, and calls Thor and the other Avengers weaklings, while taking a personal liking to the Hulk and attempting to prove he is stronger than him nearly every encounter they have. Attuma believes the surface dwellers inferior to him, and thinks the world in water would be perfect for all life
Powers and equipment
Attuma is an Atlantean and by being so he possesses superhuman strength, speed, reflexes, heightened senses, endurance, and durability, as well as being trained in several of fighting styles and techniques. Attuma is by far the strongest of the Atlanteans and has demonstrated several acts of high superhuman strength, such as matching the Hulk while the ocean was sinking into Manhattan, their blows destroyed windows and created powerful force waves that effected the waves. Attuma effortlessly overpowered and defeated Thor and Iron Man's powerful armor set while underwater, as it seems his strength is increased while underwater. He flipped over a Shield jeep, and launched the Hulk with a powerful punch which caused the Hulk to break his teamates' energy barrier which was blocking any more water from coming into Manhattan. Attuma's body is several of times denser and more resilient to pain than a normal human's, and he has taken blows from Thor's hammer with no damage, the Hulk's powerful hits barely phased, as well as nearly no-selling Iron Man's repulsor blasts. Attuma can move much faster than the finest human athlete, and swims with fine grace and agility. He outspeeds all Atlanteans while underwater, as well as Iron Man's powerful armor set and Thor. Attuma wields a long sword which is extremely durable and well built. Like all Atlanteans, Attuma's lifespan is greater than a human's, and he can live up to 140 years old, as well as he ages somewhat slower than a human as well. Attuma is seemingly more powerful underwater, as the water amplifies his natural strength by strengthening his muscles, skin, and bones, allowing him to be nearly unchallenged while fighting opponents.
In the comics, Attuma originally possessed class 40 strength while completely dry, and class 60 while underwater, but in the show he has shown class 100+ strength. He would become severely weak also while separated from being underwater for over an hour, but now he requires no such need.
